FAQ's

1. How far in advance can I make a reservation?
We have a wide schedule and can make an online reservation from 24 hours ahead to up to 1 year ahead of time. We also welcome last minute and walk-in requests, please contact us at either the Icefield Adventure Base (Open May - October) or Kananaskis Base (year-round) or stop by and ask for our next available flight.

2. How can I guarantee a Private flight experience?
We offer 2 amazing private tours, the Love in the Rockies and Exclusive Love in the Rockies. If you wish to choose a different experience, we can do an "A La Carte" Private experience tailored to your preferences and you would pay for 1 extra seat to guarantee your private flight experience with your pilot. (Ex: 2 guests pay for 3 seats, 3 guests pay for 4 seats.)

3. What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your flight, you are able to do so at no charge up to 48 hours in advance of your scheduled flight. If you cancel within 48 hours of your flight, we will charge a 20% cancellation fee. If you do not show up for your scheduled flight without notifying us, you will be charged for the flight in full. In the event of inclement weather on the day of your flight, Rockies Heli Canada reserves the right to cancel the flight for safety and no additional fee will be charged. And of course, we will assist you in rescheduling your experience if necessary.

4. Can we fly in the winter season?
Our Kananaskis Base (Banff/Canmore) is open year round and offers different packages for winter such as Heli-Snowshoeing and Heli-Dogsledding. Our Icefield Adventure Base is closed for winter and opens seasonally between May 1st and October 15th each year.

5. Do you provide transportation?
From our Kananaskis Base, we provide complimentary transportation to/from Banff and Canmore areas for 2 passengers minimum for any flights of 20 minutes or longer. For guests staying in Lake Louise, we can provide transportation to/from both the Kananaskis and Icefield Adventure Base for an additional fee of $100.00/person. Any transportation required should be booked at least 48 hours prior to your desired flight. If you need to book transportation within 48 hours of your flight please contact the base directly.

6. Someone in our party has mobility issues, can he/she still come for a flight?
We welcome guests in wheelchairs and will do our best to assist you to the aircraft. Please inform us of your situation and weight and we will plan the best experience for you. Access from our parking lot to the helipad is a flat gravel road, however, our reception building does not have a wheelchair accessible ramp at the moment.

7. I am a single traveler and see you have a minimum of 2 passengers required, can I still book a flight?
If you are a single traveller, we can either look at your preferred date and match you with another group if available and you would only pay for one seat. If we do not have another group to pair you with, you may guarantee your flight if you pay for a second seat.

8. Do you have any weight restrictions with the helicopters?
Helicopters do have safety weight limit for each aircraft. We do have a weight limit of 250 pounds for one passenger or 425 pounds per couple. If you are over the limit, we suggest to look into one of our private flight which would make your flight experience much more comfortable and enjoyable for you and your partner.

9. Is the 1 hour Exploration hike or snowshoe difficult?
The 1 hour exploration hike is a nice mellow guided walk/hike through the woods or meadow, there is no elevation gain and offers epic views of the majestic Canadian Rockies. The winter snowshoeing uses the same landing locations as the hiking.

10. Do you offer Heli-Skiing or Heli-Mountain Biking Adventures
Rockies Heli Canada does not offer Heli-Skiing or Heli-Mountain Biking packages. For liability reasons, National Parks & Provincial Parks restrictions in the area, those activities are not offered in Alberta.
